Hi , I'm Carlinda Roberts, your tutor and I will take you through the Basic Food Hygiene Certificate course, in the same order as the I'M ALERT modules.
The course book questions are covered in the I'M ALERT Program.
The closed book test questions are the same as the course book.

step two-complete basic food hygiene certificate
After completing all 24 sections of I'M ALERT please enrol on our tutor led Basic Food Hygiene Certificate course.
This course meets Auckland Council Food Safety Bylaw 2013 S 7 (1-2) and also covers the Food Act 2014.
Arrive 9.00 am for a 9.30 am start.
The closed book test starts at 3pm and most students are finished by 4pm. Direction is given to help attain a competent grade.
Students attending the Avondale class leave with their certificate -after fees are paid.
Fee $150 - No GST for 2016.
FOOD LABEL CONSULTING
Our Basic Food Hygiene course includes
1. How to read a Labels
a. Ingredients, including characterising ingredients
b. Allergens
c. Food Additives
d. Dodgy labels – what is misleading and how they get away with it (chicken noodles without chicken),
e. Wrongly made claims (gluten free without changing the NIP)
f. Missed opportunities (Products that are low in sugar, high in protein etc that have not taken advantage of the Health Star rating and Nutrient Profile Score system to say what is good about them.)
We can help you to create your own legally compliant label where you can sing the praises of your product!!
1. List Ingredients in the required way (including characterising ingredients)
2. Create a Nutrition Information Panel (NIP) from your recipe
a. Alter the NIP if you want to make a “gluten free” claim
b. Add other nutrients such as dietary fibre
3. State allergen and “gluten free” etc claims correctly
4. Put all required information - including weight, address, storage instructions and any statements you want to make - in the correct format and place.
5. Calculate your Health Star Rating
a. Health Star Ratings
6. Calculate your Nutrient Profile Score to see which claims you can make under standard 1.2.7 – such as
i. Low in fat, sugar or carbohydrates etc
ii. A good source of /High in Protein etc

Complete I’M ALERT (1.5 – 2 hours online training)- $30 –and receive Council approved certificate -– within 1 hour
Then complete our New fully Online “Basic Food Hygiene and Food Control Plan course” -$120 more (total $150)
